L’ECOLE CULINAIRE HOSTS AN OPEN HOUSE WITH LOCAL CELEBRITY CHEFS AND THE LADUE FIRE FIGHTERS

L’Ecole Culinaire is proud to announce an Open House event on Friday, June 15, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The L’Ecole Student Culinary Team will take on the Ladue Fire Fighters in a Chili Cook Off. The event will also feature some of St. Louis’ best Chefs from members of L’Ecole’s Advisory Board including Honduran Scallop Ceviche from Bob Menendez, Chef/Owner of Sunset 44, Seared Yellowfin Tuna with Tomato Onion Ragout from ACF Chef of the Year, Bernard Pilon at Norwood Hills Country Club. Executive Chef of the Renaissance Grand & Suites, Timothy Grandinetti, Wolfgang Puck’s and Annie Gunn’s will also be serving.

A Gumbo Throwdown between Chef/Instructors Thomas Martoccio and Darren Garmer will be another highlight of the day. A panel of judges will determine the chef with the most points, who will be named the winner. Z107.7 Radio will be doing a live broadcast.

Students will be appreciated throughout the day with fun culinary games like a “Food Factor,” a food-related ‘Fear Factor’ including exotic items from around the world, a Peel & Eat Shrimp Contest, Turkey Bowling and a Barbeque prepared by their Chef Instructors as well as a Career Fair with many of L’Ecole major employers present.

In addition to everything fore mentioned there will be an Artisan Baking Shop and a Chocolate Demonstration.
